Kitchen Sink Taps
In most houses the kitchen sink is used by every family member at least once a day. Choosing the right kitchen sink taps can impact everyone in different ways. There are so many choices of different styles and sizes of kitchen faucets that shopping for the right one can be overwhelming at first. If you break the process down into parts, though, you may find that the proper kitchen faucet is a simple choice.
Form and Function
The first thing to consider is how the faucet will be used. Do you wash your dishes by hand at the sink? Do you need to fill large pots or buckets at the kitchen sink often? Are there young children who will need to have easy access to the faucet handles? Are there older members of the household who may have trouble operating a smaller handle? Think about a normal day and the different kinds of uses that the faucet receives from everyone in the house. Consider the practical nature of the fixture, then you can begin shopping for a faucet that is beautiful and fills your family’s needs.
One Handle or Two
Kitchen faucets are designed with several different handles to fit different lifestyles and needs. Some kitchen faucets are touch operated, and don’t have handles at all. If you tend to have your hands full or dirty when you need to turn on the water, a touch operated faucet could be ideal. The next best thing would be a faucet with a single handle that can be pushed to one side or the other for temperature regulation. If you prefer traditional design, you may opt for a double handle design with smaller knobs on either side of the tap.
Benefits of Taller Faucets
Kitchen faucets are used to fill containers of many different sizes. It can be very convenient to have a kitchen faucet that is much taller than the sink basin. Tall faucets allow you to slide pitchers, buckets, flower vases, and other tall items underneath the flow of water to fill them directly. Taller faucets also allow more room to handle dishes or even wash small dogs in the sink. The elegant design of many of the most recent kitchen faucet models gives you the practical features of a tall faucet with a more sophisticated flair.
